WHO WE ARE
Out of the Box Marketing Strategies, Inc. was created by Elizabeth Geary-Archer to provide marketing services to the
design, construction and new media industries. Clients include architects,
engineers, contractors, lighting designers, construction managers, 3D
Rendering and Digital Mapping consultants, landscape architects, and any
groups connected to the industry, such as related professional
associations and publications.  

Elizabeth Geary-Archer, President

Elizabeth loves the «story of
design and construction».  From development, to planning, to
real estate, to zoning, to design, to engineering, to materials, to
construction, to the ribbon cutting, the process reaches out to all
elements of society and creates a fascinating saga.  

Armed with a
degree in architecture from NYIT, a certificate in marketing from
NYU, and
several years of  experience in marketing for top NYC design firms,
Elizabeth decided to start a new consulting business offering fresh, fun and innovative ways to get known and get work. 

Elizabeth Geary-Archer’s long-term career goal is to help improve the general public’s perception of
the design and construction process – and she wants to have fun doing it. Prior to founding Out of the Box Marketing Strategies, Inc. where she is the President, she was the Director of Marketing and Business Development at
Kapell and Kostow Architects. She has worked in administration and marketing at several design firms including Mitchell Giurgola,
Rafael Viñoly, and Richard
Dattner & Partners Architects


Elizabeth Geary-Archer has been published in several periodicals including

Architectural Record
, IOMA edited by Steven Kliment, SDA’s Skyline, the
SMPS press, Blacklines Magazine and the
Kip Business Report.  She has
served on the AIA Marketing and PR Committee since 1997.  She is a Board Member of the
Society for Marketing Professional Services NY Area
Chapter. She is also a Board Member for the Morris-Jumel
Mansion, the
oldest residence in Manhattan and an «undiscovered jewel».

Light Projects by Leni
Schwendinger

 

Schwendinger’s etherial light designs for major public projects took her around the world. We helped hone her outreach by
re-hauling her marketing department and creating a business development approach for targeting her A/E/C audience.
We also placed her in Crain’s Business Magazine and arranged appropriate
speaking engagements for her.

Lorshel, Inc. 

 

Lorshel, Inc. is a construction management
consulting firm dedicated to redeveloping NYC’s neighborhoods. We prepared a new marketing package for Lorshel, infused with quotes from clients and project images.
When Lorshel completed a successful NYC HPD project, we wrote a press
release for them to hand out at the opening.  We help them with web
strategies, business development, and general marketing outreach to the
community.

Bradford Construction Corporation

«The Bradford Difference» is
led by Sandra Wilkin, the company’s President, who hired us to develop her marketing plan and refine the firm’s brand image. From merchandising, graphic design, proposal formatting and web site development, we are bringing BCC to the next level.

Kinetic Media Inc.

KMi’s
new branding statement «Virtually Building Your Ideas» was derived
from a two-part branding session facilitated by Out of the Box Marketing
Strategies.  Combining, PR, Business Development, Sponsorships, and
Networking, we continue to work with KMi in reaching out to the A/E/C
market.  Previously, we provided proposal review and consulting
services to KMi for a proposal geared toward a large NYS construction
agency. The proposal was successful and Kinetic Media began a positive working relationship with
the agency that continues to this day.

The African Burial Ground Interpretive Center Design Collaborative

We Designed and prepared a layout for the qualifications package and the final technical proposal package; as well as made a summary statement for the team at their interview and final presentation to the selection committee for the winning team of the African Burial Ground Interpretive Center competition sponsored by the United States General Services Administration.
We provided PR services and placed articles in «Design/Build» Magazine, Architectural Record and
DesignArchitecture.com.

Aaron Davis Hall and
Partners

Out
of the Box Marketing Strategies Inc., in partnership with J-P Design Group
Inc. and Cityscape Institute orchestrated The «Come Share Your Vision
Event» sponsored by Aaron Davis Hall, City College of New York, City of
New York Parks and Recreation, P.S. 161 and Take The Field. The event
gathered community leaders, politicians, academics, students and residents
together to brainstorm ways to rethink common public spaces in Harlem.
The event was a big success, drawing over 100 people and allowing the client
to garner valuable input from the community.

Terrence
O’Neal Architect

We’ve provided a wide range of
marketing services for TONA including:  designing a new brochure,
creating the company web site, writing the firm’s newsletter, and planning a
party to celebrate the firm’s new office space.

Jack Travis Architects

Co-wrote the winning proposal for a grant issued by the AIA College
of Fellows for a historic exhibit showcasing Black architects.

Horace Harris
and Associates – Architects

We provided PR services for a new Kidney Dialysis Center at SUNY Downstate Hospital.
We hired and coordinated photographer, Michael Rogol for publicity photos.
We designed a direct mail piece and sent out a health care industry media blitz.
We developed a targeted media database for the client to keep and use after the initial PR campaign.

Goshow
Architects

With a staff of 45 people GA is one of the
largest Woman-Owned Architecture firms in the North-East region.  We
led the firm’s leadership through an intense identity session to help them
come up with a brand for the company.  We wrote the initial
«What’s New» section of their web site.  We drafted press
releases and gathered quotes from clients and fellow consultants.  We
drafted their new aviation brochure.

J-P Design Group

J-P
Design Group, «a small office with a big practice» is led by
Zevilla Preston Jackson, one of the leading young designers in the
U.S.  We provided PR consulting, proposal review and identity package review
services for the company.

Amie Gross Architects

Amie
Gross AIA has spent the last 20 years designing incredible, memorable
(remember the red «Circuit City» cubes?) and socially conscious
architecture.  Recently she completed the Lenox Hill Neighborhood Swim
Center.  We placed articles about the project in Aquatics Magazine
and Pool & Spa News Magazine.

NY-based landscape architectural design firm.  Out of the Box
Marketing Strategies, Inc. worked with EKLA to get registered with NYC
agencies in order to participate in public works.  We contacted area
building authorities and set up business development presentations.
We recognized how top designers in NYC valued working with EKLA and we set
out to capture their sentiments by calling them up and asking for quotes
on what they think about EKLA.  A sample begins this paragraph.
